Patrik Laine leaves game for Jets

Winnipeg Jets rookie forward Patrik Laine left the game Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres after an open-ice hit by Buffalo defenseman Jake McCabe.
Laine was skating in the neutral zone when he was hit high by McCabe with 14:12 remaining in the third period and the score tied 3-3. Laine remained on the ice before he was assisted by trainers to the locker room.
Jets coach Paul Maurice did not have an update on Laine's condition after the game.
McCabe was not assessed a penalty on the play.
Laine, the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, had an assist in the first period. He has 37 points (21 goals, 16 assists) in 42 games.
